10.I don’t know about you, but I love getting things in the mail.  Well of course, everything except for bills.  Valentine's Day is the second largest card-sending holiday of the year, with just about one billion people receiving cards last year.  With those numbers, someone is bound to send me a card…right??  Wink, Wink!  Well my address is….just in case you didn’t get the card I sent you last year!

9. How else would we have a reason to still collect teddy bears well into our twenties and thirties? 

8. Valentine’s Day was added to the calendar just so we can have another holiday requiring presents! Who in their right mind doesn’t like presents?

7.  Valentine's Day is an excuse to go shopping...like I need an excuse!   I make my way into the store and I buy something for my Valentine and then of course a little something for myself to celebrate the day.  Well, sometimes that little something turns into a whole new outfit, and then I need matching earrings and, oh, those shoes would be perfect!  -- And I wonder where all my money goes!

6. So just in case I spent all my money at the above location, I love that Valentine's Day is one of those holidays that it’s actually okay to show your creativity and give something home made.  Maybe that’s why men spend twice as much as women do on this holiday…we get lucky and can use all our leftover scrapbook materials. 

5. While some men know how to be romantic, there are still others who don’t have a clue.  Sometimes I think Valentine's Day is the connect the dots version of romance for these guys.  Every store or restaurant you walk into has some sort of offer or item to buy for the day.  It allows these guys a chance to step up their game at least one day out of the year.

4.  It’s an excuse to send cards and notes to your office crushes without them thinking your weird.  Who knows, that card could be the beginning of a hot and steamy stare down at work where you both don’t do anything until you send out next year’s Valentine's Day card. 

3.  In the month of February, we’d never get discounts off dating websites. 

2.  What other day can you honestly think it’s okay to give the burliest guy you know, something pink and furry without them taking offense?
